Independence Center partners with St. Louis-area employers like Barnes-Jewish Hospital who provide meaningful job opportunities to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. Johnnie Phillips is an Independence Center participant currently working in the food and nutrition department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital where he prepares and expedites meals for patients. “This employment program is an excellent example of expanding our partnership with Independence Center. Team members like Johnnie help us take exceptional care of our patients,” says Rich Liekweg, President of Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
